Wireless Changes at the Health Sciences Building (WSU Spokane)
Beginning on January 1st, you will need to exclusively use the eduroam wireless network at the HSB and on the WSU Spokane campus.
Nearly all EWU services are available on eduroam, but there may be a few instances where you will need to connect to our VPN. This does not include Outlook, Canvas, Banner, Eaglenet, Google Drive, OneDrive, Office 365, Zoom, and many others.
Q. Why are we making this change?
A. As many of you remember from last year, WSU made some major changes to their network that impacted EWUSecure for several weeks. We implemented a workaround with WSU to restore access, but it’s not a good or permanent solution. Future changes by WSU could break it again.
Q. What do I need to do?
A. Make sure your devices are connected to eduroam.
Lonny and Travis will be on-site in the HSB on November 29th and 30th from 10:00am to Noon to help you get your devices setup and make sure Global Protect is installed.
If you can’t make those times, just submit a ticket to the Help Desk at https://support.ewu.edu to schedule a time for assistance.
Q. Where can I use eduroam?
A. eduroam is supported everywhere on the WSU, EWU, and Gonzaga campuses. Eduroam is available at many other universities nationally and internationally.
Q. Does this affect Catalyst or SIERR?
A. No. EWUSecure, EWUGuest, and eduroam will be available at those locations.
