Zoom Meeting Recording With Panopto Integration
Modified on: Tue, Jan 2 2024 3:23 PMZoom is a popular video conferencing platform that allows users to host virtual meetings with participants from different locations. One of the features that make Zoom stand out is its ability to record meetings. However, recording a meeting is not enough if you cannot share it with others who were not present during the live session. This is where Panopto integration comes in handy. In this article, we will explore how EWU's Zoom/Panopto integration works.
What is Panopto Integration?
Panopto is a video platform that allows users to record, manage, and share videos. Panopto integration with Zoom allows users to record Zoom meetings or presentations and automatically upload them to their Panopto account. This means that you can easily share your recorded Zoom meetings or lectures with others.
How to Record a Zoom Meeting with Panopto Integration
With EWU's Panopto integration with Zoom, recording a meeting is a breeze. Here are the steps to follow:
- Log into Zoom using your "username@ewu.edu" account and password.
- Start a Zoom meeting as you normally would by clicking New Meeting.
- When ready, click on the Record button and select the option to "Record to the Cloud". (fig.1)
- Once the meeting is over, end the recording and close the meeting.
- The recording will first be processed in Zoom cloud services. Depending on the length of the presentation or meeting, this may take some time. (fig.2)
- The first time this is done, Panopto will create a folder called "Meeting Recordings" under your "My Folder". You can get to your Panopto location by going to https://ewu.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Home.aspx and selecting "My Folder".
- The recorded meeting will automatically be uploaded to your Panopto account soon after processing is completed in the Zoom cloud in to the Meetings folder located under your MyFolder.(fig.3)
- A copy of the meeting or presentation will also remain in the Zoom cloud for 14 days, when it is automatically deleted. The Panopto copy will not delete.
- When adding this video to a class in Canvas, be sure to expand "My Folder" under "All Folders" and find "Meeting Recordings" in order to find your Zoom content. (fig.4)
