How do I sign up for EWU Alerts? (faculty, staff, or student)
All current faculty, staff, and students are automatically enrolled with their EWU email address. By logging into your EWU Alert account, you can additional notification methods, including other email addresses or phone numbers. Note: You are not able to opt-out your EWU email address and, if you are a university employee, your office phone number or university-supplied cell phone number. If you are not a current faculty, staff, or student, you can still sign up for EWU Alerts by text message. See this article and text EWUALERT to 77295. Current faculty, staff, and students do not need to use this signup method. Note: EWU Alerts may be sent from any of the following short codes: 226787, 67283, 78015, 77295 and 81437. Important information about EWU Alerts The "EWU Alerts" service is provided by Eastern Washington University to EWU faculty, staff, students and other campus community members as a method of communicating timely announcements via cell phone text messaging, e-mail, and other electronic communication channels. There is no cost or subscription fee for users of this service. However, standard text messaging fees and data rates may apply depending on your cell phone service provider. EWU is not responsible for any costs incurred by users whom subscribe to this service. Eastern is committed to using this service for only those announcements which it deems crucial for instant notification to the campus community. Please check with your cell phone service provider regarding possible rates and fees. How do I add another email to my EWU Alert account? (faculty, staff, or student)
In addition to your EWU email account, you can add up to two additional email address that will receive alerts. You could add your personal email address, the email address of a parent or spouse, or anyone else that you would like to be notified. Get started by logging into your EWU Alert account. If this is your first time logging in, you will be asked to accept the Terms of Use. Select "I have read..." and click Submit to continue. Next, you'll see your account. Click +ADD next to Email. Add your additional email and click Save. You should see the additional email added to your account. Repeat the same steps to add another email address.

How do I sign up for EWU Alerts if I'm not an employee or student?
If you are not an EWU employee or student, you may still sign up for text alerts from the university. To sign up, just text EWUALERT to 77295 to receive alerts from Eastern Washington University. Text messages are sent on an as-needed basis. You will receive a text confirmation after signing up. To stop receiving alerts, just text STOP to 77295 to cancel or HELP for tech support. Note: EWU Alerts may be sent from any of the following short codes: 226787, 67283, 78015, 77295 and 81437. Current faculty, staff, and students do not need to use this signup method. How do I add a voice line to my EWU Alert account? (faculty, staff, or student)
You can add up to three voice-only phone numbers that will receive alerts. You could add your personal voice line, the line of a parent or spouse, or anyone else that you would like to be notified. Get started by logging into your EWU Alert account. If this is your first time logging in, you will be asked to accept the Terms of Use. Select "I have read..." and click Submit to continue. Next, you'll see your account. Click +ADD next to Voice Only Line Contacts. Add your voice only phone number and click Save. You should see the voice-only phone added to your account. Repeat the same steps to add another voice-only phone number.

How do I add a mobile number to my EWU Alert Account? (faculty, staff, or student)
You can add up to three mobile phone numbers that will receive alerts. You could add your personal mobile, the mobile phone of a parent or spouse, or anyone else that you would like to be notified. Get started by logging into your EWU Alert account. If this is your first time logging in, you will be asked to accept the Terms of Use. Select "I have read..." and click Submit to continue. Next, you'll see your account. Click +ADD next to Mobile Phones. Add your mobile number and click Continue. Next confirm your mobile carrier and Continue. You will be texted a confirmation code. Enter the 4-digit confirmation and click Continue. Adding your mobile number is complete. Click Done. You should see the mobile phone added to your account. Repeat the same steps to add up to two more mobile phone numbers.

What is the EWU EagleSafe Notification Icon on my University Computer?
You may notice a green icon in your Windows PC Tasktray or in your Apple Mac's Menu called "EWU EagleSafe" or "Desktop Notifications." The EWU EagleSafe desktop app allows the university to send EWU Alerts directly to your university or lab computer when you are on-campus. If there's an active alert, you will see a full-screen message and the icon will turn red. You can use the EagleSafe desktop app to send an emergency alert to the EWU Police Department.
